Trafalgar Tour Itinerary

Day: 1 Arrive Brisbane (2 Nights)
Meet your Travel Director and fellow travel companions at a Welcome Reception, before heading to a unique 'Be My Guest' experience at City Winery - Brisbane's first urban winery. (Flights to arrive prior to 2pm). 'Connect with Locals' over a special food and wine pairing hosted by the Group Sommelier or Winemaker, where you'll learn about the inner workings of this micro-winery. It's the perfect introduction to Brisbane's modern, vibrant and generous spirit.
Day: 2 Brisbane Sightseeing
This morning we'll head to Australia Zoo's Wildlife Hospital. Australia's wildlife is uniquely its own and much-loved by the world. See how Trafalgar works with the Wildlife Warriors and go behind the scenes to see how the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital is giving injured wildlife a second chance. Over a twelve month period, between 6,000 and 8,000 animals are brought to the hospital for lifesaving treatment. This afternoon, we'll 'Dive Into Culture' on an indigenous walking tour of Brisbane, uncovering the fascinating history, art and rich cultural heritage of Meeanjin (Brisbane) as the captivating sounds of the Didgeridoo ring out over the city.
Day: 3 Brisbane - Hamilton Island (3 Nights)
Fly to an unspoilt paradise in the very heart of Queensland's Whitsundays, Hamilton Island. Ease into island life on 'Hamo', marvelling at its long white beaches and teal water, brimming with marine life. Book your spot on a sun lounger at the pool, head out for a walk or grab a golf buggy to explore this car-free coastal wonderland at your own pace (driver's licence still required). Make sure to relax, as tomorrow promises a bucket-list day of epic proportions.
Day: 4 Great Barrier Reef
Today we'll sail out into the Whitsundays, an island archipelago in the Coral Sea - and your tropical gateway to the iconic Great Barrier Reef. Streak across the waters of the marine park and explore the hidden corners and colourful depths of the reef from Whitsundays' floating pontoon. Or soar above the Great Barrier Reef on an Optional Experience scenic flight, taking in Heart Reef, a stunning composition of coral, perfectly formed in the shape of a heart.
Day: 5 Hamilton Island at Leisure
Today the island is yours. Enjoy a coffee at the marina, lace up your hiking boots and head up Passage Peak for flagship views across the archipelago or don your swimming togs for a dip in the warm waters off Catseye Beach. We highly recommend booking an Optional Experience catamaran cruise to the stunning silica beach of Whitehaven - the most beautiful beach in all the Whitsundays (and arguably, Australia).
Day: 6 Hamilton Island - Sydney (3 Nights)
An easy start to the day gives you some more time to enjoy Hamilton Island. Savour a leisurely breakfast, sneak in one last swim and soak up the views - soon we'll board our flight to Sydney. This evening we'll catch the sunset from Sydney's iconic Darling Harbour, watching the city light up around us as we enjoy a Regional Dinner at a waterside restaurant.
Day: 7 Sydney Sightseeing
This morning we'll join a 'Local Specialist' for a Behind the Scenes Sydney Opera House Tour. You'll walk up the steps and under the 'sails' of this iconic building, to delve into the heart and history of one of the world's most beloved opera houses. For a change of scene, we'll head to Sydney's Bondi Beach for some free time along the famous strip. Then 'Make A Difference' and 'Join Trafalgar' at Our Big Kitchen, a community organisation that encourages individuals to help provide meals for those in need.
Day: 8 Sydney At Leisure
Get your final fix of Sydney. Jump on ferry to Manly Beach, wander around the Royal Botanic Gardens, or get your adrenaline racing with a thrilling walk up (and over) Sydney Harbour Bridge. This evening, join your Travel Director on a Sydney Harbour cruise.
Day: 9 Sydney - Queenstown (3 Nights)
It's time to say Hoo Roo Australia and Kia Ora New Zealand as we fly to Queenstown. On arrival, we'll delve into the historic gold mining heritage of Arrowtown. This evening join your Travel Director for dinner at The Boatshed set in the historic New Zealand Railways Shipping Office built in 1936. With its spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables mountain range, it's the perfect venue for your exclusive Regional Dinner.
Day: 10 Queenstown Sightseeing and At Leisure
Get a feel for real country life this morning when we'll 'Connect With Locals' over a 'Be My Guest' experience with our host Laura. Born and raised on a sheep and deer farm in the deep south of New Zealand, Laura will share her story of her life growing up in the country. Try your hand at sheep mustering, whip cracking as well as the chance to feed and pet the farm animals. You'll leave feeling more like a local than a visitor. Enjoy free time this afternoon. An Optional Experience could see you taking a jet boat ride down the Shotover River, a minibus excursion through Skipper's Canyon or tempting your taste buds on a wine tour.
Day: 11 Queenstown at Leisure
If bungy jumping or tree-to-tree ziplining aren't your cup of tea, consider an Optional Experience through the rainforest of World Heritage Fiordland National Park for an unforgettable cruise on Milford Sound.
Day: 12 Queenstown - Auckland
Today we depart Queenstown and fly north to Auckland, the City of Sails. This evening is free, so why not dine in the 'heart of the city' Federal Street, a hotspot for food lovers right on your doorstep.
Day: 13 Auckland - Rotorua (2 Nights)
We journey through King Country, which was at the centre of the New Zealand Wars in the 1860s. Join a 'Local Specialist' in in a starry wonderland - a cavernous galaxy of twinkling glowworms, in shades of iridescent green and blue, lighting up the Ruakuri Caves in Waitomo. This evening we'll 'Dive Into Culture' at the Mitai Maori Village for a Regional Dinner. Watch your Māori hosts issue their heart-pounding wero (challenge) during the Powhiri, a ceremonial welcome. Then, continue to the village to delve into what life was like in New Zealand before European settlement. Our encounter with Māori culture continues as we feast on succulent meats and vegetables cooked in a Hangi, sharing our meal with our indigenous hosts.
Day: 14 Rotorua Sightseeing
Visit Rainbow Springs Nature Park for a tour of the National Kiwi Hatchery Aotearoa with a 'Local Specialist'. Continue to the Living Maori Village Whakarewarewa and 'Dive Into Culture' to gain in-depth insights into the lives of the Māori people and the special bond they share with this ancient land. Later, we join our Travel Director for a Farewell Dinner at Terrace Kitchen on the lakefront.
Day: 15 Depart Auckland
Bid farewell to your epic Antipodean adventure as you are transferred from Rotorua to Auckland Airport for your onward flight (flights to depart after 2pm).
